SABBATICAL LEAVE SCHEME FOR FEMALE EMPLOYEES (BOISLFE)
EFFECTIVE FROM :: 01.04.2012

Salient Features:
1. All permanent female employees of the Bank with 5 years and above service are eligible
2. Female employees with less than 5 years of service are also eligible which will be sanctioned
only in exceptional circumstances
3. Those female employees who are on probation (upon their promotion from sub-staff to clerical
cadre or from clerical to Officers' cadre) are not eligiblel
4. Purposes : a. For own medical reasons
b. To take care of family members/children
c. Fo higher studies in India or abroad
d. For visiting spouse in India or abroad
e. Any other purpose acceptable to the Bank
5. Period : Minimum 3 months and shall not be permitted more than once in a calendar year
Maximum of 2 years during the entire service.
6. Application for leave shall be sent to the competent authority one month in advance.
7. Once sanctioned, the same shall be irrevocable
8. The period of leave will not be treated/reckoned as active service
9. LTC/LFC span will not change
10. No salary, allowances, perquisites during the period of leave
11. Increment fallin due during the leave period will be deferred correspondingly.
12. No other type of leae can be prefixed o suffixed to this leave
13. The Bank reserves the right to recall the employee during the leave period without
assigning any reason, by giving one month's notice.
14. All loan instalments/interest on various staff loans/overdraft should be paid by the
employe from her own sources, failing which appropriate disciplinary action shall be
initiated.
15.The employee shall submit her application for rejoining, before 30 days of the
expiry of the leave period.
16. The employee cannot submit VRS during the period of leave. She can do so only after
her rejoining the duties.
17. Festival advance and all types of sundry advance shall be fully repaid before proceeding
on leave, provided the period of leae sanctioned is 18 months or more
