Medical aid
With effect 01.11.2007 the reimbursement of medical expenses under medical aid scheme shall be restricted to an amount of Rs. 2,000/- per annum.
Scheme for reimbursement of hospitalization expenses – W.E.F. 01.05.2010
a) For family – 75% of the amount actually incurred with a maximum of ceiling as per clause 20 of BPS dt 27.04.10
b) For self – 100% of the amount actually incurred with a maximum of ceiling as per clause 20 of BPS dt 27.04.10
c) In case the patient is to be moved to a hospital/nursing home outside the urban agglomeration/municipal limits, then the expenses incurred on conveyance may be reimbursed at the rate of Rs.6.00 per kilometer, with a maximum of Rs.1100/- per trip or the amount actually incurred, whichever is the least.
d) Treatment under the recognized systems of medicines, viz. Ayurvedic, Unani, Sidha, Homeopathy & Naturopathy system are also eligible for reimbursement of medical aid and hospitalization etc., if such treatment is taken in a clinic/hospital recognized by the Central/State Government., subject to ceiling as per clause 20.

Domiciliary Treatment:
Medical Expenses incurred in respect of the following diseases which need domiciliary treatment as may be certified by the recognized hospital authorities and Bank’s medical officer shall be deemed as hospitalization expenses and reimbursed of the extent of 100% in case of a workman and 75% in the case of his family.
CANCER, LEUKAEMIA, THALASSEMIA, TUBERCULOSIS, PARALYSIS, CARDIAC AILMENT, PLEURESY, LEPROSY,
KIDNEY AILMENT, EPILEPSY, PARKINSON’S DISEASE, PSYCHIATRICT DISORDER, DIABETES, HEPATITIS-B,
HEPATITIS-C, HAEMOPHILIA, MYASTHENIAGRAVIS, WILSON’S DISEASE, ULCERATIVE COLITIS,
EPIDEMOLYSIS BULLOSA, VENOUS THROMBOSIS (not caused by smoking), APLASTIC ANAEMIA,
PSORIASIS, THIRD DEGREE BURNS, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, HYPOTHYROIDISM AND HYPERTHYROIDISM

EX-GRATIA MEDICAL AID OF HOSPITALISATION EXPENSES FOR SELF AND DEPENDENT FAMILY MEMBERS OF AWARD STAFF:

Ex-gratia Scheme is intended to extend help, as an extra support, to an Award Staff member under situations or circumstances towards meeting hospitalisation expenses, over and above the normal reimbursement as per eligibility norms under Bipartite Settlement.  The scheme is meant to favour the genuine and deserving cases of hospitalization involving heavy to very heavy expenditure in order to sustain the unexpected/sudden financial load/burden of the Award Staff member, on humanitarian grounds.

(A)    Only Award Staff members can claim reimbursement of balance amount of hospitalisation expenses incurred for self and/or dependent family members after reimbursement in terms of Bipartite Settlement is considdered in respect of ailments/special operations undergone mentioned as under:


(i) Cardiac (ii)Brain (iii) Cancer (iv) Kindye )V) Major operations of spine (vi) serious burn cases (vii) Major accidents resulting in fractures requiring surgical treatment (viii) Cases of surgery resulting in the amputation of any limb of the body (IX) Detachment of retina/retinal surgery (x) Grafting of Bone Morrow (xi) ESWL (Extra Corporal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) and (xii) Tuberculosis (xiii) Liver ailment (XIV) Alzheimer/Parkinsons (xv) Dementia.


(B)    Full reimbursement of hospitalisation expenses for any disease/accident/ailment incurred for self only in case of workman who dies in harness.


(C)     Reimbursement @ 90% for workman himself and 70% for the family members in regard to expenses incurred by the workman for dialysis, blood tranfusion, pace maker, heart valve, CAT scanning and charges for intensive Care Unit.


(D)     After reombursing the hospitalisation expenses in terms of Bipartite Settlement, reimbursement to the extent of 70% of the balance amount of such expenses may be considered SUBJECT TO THE CONDITION that the concerned staff member to bear minimum expenses of Rs.10,000 in case of clerical staff and Rs.5,000 in case of sub-staff out of the total expenses incurred by him/her.


(E)     Only cases having the following characteristic fefatures are to be deemed appropriate for consideration under Ex-gratia Scheme for CASES FALLING OUTSIDE THE PURVIEW OF IDENTIFIED DISEASES.                (a) Where hospitalisation is a case of emergency nature;                (b) Accident/Burn injuries leading to Traumatic conditions;               (c) Ailment is of a peculiar or unique nature with grave/

            serious  disorders and not those of a  general or trivial nature;
              (d) Hospitalisation is for over a period of time and not a 
                    very short duration;              (e) Besides (a) to (d) above, the hospitalization is to 
                    have involved a heavy to very heavy                            
                   expenditure with requirement of intricate or complex 
                   procedures of treatment.

(F)       In cases of unspecified diseases, it has to be decided depending on merit basis of each case.

REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED BY AWARD STAFF MEMBERS (CLERKS/SUB-STAFF) FOR HEALTH CHECK-UP:
Refer Branch Circular No.101/55 dated 11.07.2007 &
ELIGIBILITY: All permanent Award staff members (Clerks/sub-staff – including part-time/drawing scale wages) who are of the age of 55 years and above (after completion of 55 years of age) can avail the benefit under the said Scheme only once in the financial year (i.e. April to March)
BENEFITS: Eligible staff members can claim reimbursement o expenses incurred by them for Health check-up done at Greater Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad Centres up to an actual amount of expenses incurred or Rs.2000 whichever is less. If the Health check-up is done at any other centre, reimbursable amount would be actual amount of expenses or Rs.1500 whichever is less.
FOR RESISTING BANK ROBBERIES AND TERRORIST ATTACKS:
A. Cash reward up to Rs.50,000 and out of turn promotion
B. Those injured will get all the expenses for treatment + special leave

COMPENSATION ON TRANSFER: W.E.F.0105.2010 compensation on transfer shall be as under:-
An employee on transfer shall be paid the cost actually incurred o transporting his personal effects, as under:
By Train Non Sub-staff Sub-staff
a. For married persons 3000 Kgs. 2000 Kgs.
b. For unmarried persons 2000 Kgs. 1150 Kgs.
By Road: If the places are not connected by rail/out agency, actual expenses will be reimbursed for transporting the personal effects by road up to the stipulated weights by an IBA approved Transport Operator.
COMPENSATION FOR LOSSES DUE TO BREAKAGE OR DAMAGE TO GOODS ON TRANSFER:
W.E.F.01.05.2010 shall be as under:
a. Where an employee produces receipts or a statement of loss in respect of breakages, subject to a maximum of:
Clerical staff : Rs.1,120/-
Subordinate Staff : Rs. 745/-
b. Where no receipts/statement of loss are produced, a lump sum payment of:
Clerical staff : Rs.745/-
Subordinate Staff : Rs.560/-
